Yesterday a father from Subang Jaya, Mr. Luo called up and asked whether acupuncture helps to reduce myopia. From my clinical experience, myopia can be classified into "true" and "false"( or "pseudo") myopia. Treament of pseudomyopia can be easily treated by a few session of acupuncture, and the so-called "induced pseudo-power" can be easily "erased" with acupuncture. However, treating true myopia(short-sightedness) with acupuncture is not able to reduce the power significantly.
In our clinic, we do acupuncture without needle. we have improved the needle acupuncture into " cyber-finger" acupunture. It is only applying finger in "space" to give maximum stimuli to the meridian points. This treatment is very useful and friendly for those who suffer from fatigue eye, tired eye, intermittent blurring of vision and pseudo-myopia due to accomodation spasm and convergence insufficiency.
It is also very effective for blephrospasm (lid spasm), twitching eyelids or surrounding the orbit or trigrminal nerve (5th CN ) pain radiating from you ear.
In conclusion, acupuncture can not effectively treat the "true myopia" , but acupuncture can easily treat "pseudo-myopia". However, the true myopia can only be" treated" with the latest technique called "Ortho-keratology" or "ortho-K" or "OrthoK" or " corneal reshaping therapy".
Ortho-k is scientifically proven to be effective to control the progressive increase in myopia in children. Ortho-k can both reduce and control the increase of power in young children, but for adult it can only reduce the power to "zero" only.

Great blog......In my opinion Myopia literally meaning "trying to see like a mole" (mys/mus), commonly known as near-sightedness (American English) and short-sightedness (British English), is a condition of the eye.Acupuncture in Beverly Hills
